Norse FESTIVAL THE at NORTHERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY

Now in its Eighth Season, The Norse Festival was designed to be an exciting exploration into the art of playing chamber music. A vital part of every young musicians education, chamber music study helps to develop essential skills of self-criticism, problem-solving, verbal expression, musical communication, and peer interaction.

By collaborating with professional musicians and advanced students, Norse Festival 2008 participants will build a foundation of knowledge and artistry that will remain strong well beyond the week of intensive coaching.

Students will learn how to interpret a score, discuss issues of phrasing and technique productively, use rehearsal techniques specific to chamber music, and create a polished product within a limited time frame.

The Norse Festival offers an opportunity for young musicians to be inspired to raise their own expectations - and to learn that the joy of music making can be a life long experience.
