The study of jazz has become an exciting and integral component to the music program at NKU. The mission of this area is to provide a quality education for jazz performance and pedagogy in such a manner as to enable graduates to make a living as well-rounded teachers or performers in today's music industry. Therefore, the primary focus of the program at NKU will be to provide the student with a comprehensive background which includes the study of jazz. Through a number of courses and opportunities, NKU aims to provide a performance-oriented emphasis which prepares the student ti earn a living in today's music industry and to be a well-rounded teacher when faced with a varied public school curriculum. |
