Guitar Program

Northern Kentucky University's Guitar Ensemble is a performance class. Emphasis is placed on ensemble performance in a variety of musical styles encompassing both the classical tradition and popular trends. The ensemble will perform at least one recital and recital review each semester.

The ability to sight read for guitar is a prerequisite; however, students with somewhat less than adequate experience will be permitted to participate on a trial basis with the understanding that sight-reading skills will be acquired in a timely manner. Failure to do so will result in the necessity to drop the course with an audition requirement for future entrance into the course. A classical guitar and footstool is required for the class.
