- William Jackson is an in-demand bass player and educator in Cincinnati and surrounding area. After studying with Bruce Gertz at the Berklee School of music in Boston, he finished his Bachelor of Music Education at Indiana University in Ft. Wayne, IN. After 3 years of public school teaching he committed himself to playing full-time and teaching privately.
- Jackson's interest in a variety of styles has offered him many opportunities. He can currently be heard regularly with The Vintage Keys Project (playing 60's and 70's electric jazz/fusion such as Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard, etc.), Mike Wade’s Jazz Mafia, Tropicoso (award winning 9-piece Latin group), The Bacchanal Steel Band (4-piece Caribbean Steel Band), and Aja (ensemble celebrating the music of Steely Dan). He can also be seen with a variety of other local and regional jazz groups, as well as playing shows, concerts, etc. Jackson can also be found on several recordings including "J Curve Jazz Collection Vol. II" (with Cal Collins and Kenny Poole), Mike Wade and the Jazz Mafia "Broach Approach", Tropicoso’s "Un Cuento", Bacchanal Steel Band "Standard", 12 Rods "Split Personality" (V2 Records), among others.
- Jackson has shared the stage with a variety of national players including pianist, Mulgrew Miller, saxophonists, Steve Wilson, Javon Jackson and Tim Warfield, steel drum greats Ray Holman and Tom Miller, and has also been featured with composer/percussionist Roland Vasquez on his work "Music for 3 Mallets and Jazz Rhythm Section". He has also performed at PASIC, OMEA, and adjudicated for several years at Miami University's Southern Ohio Jazz Band Festival. Recently, Jackson performed with the Gypsy Jazz group, The Faux Frenchman, at the Chautagua Jazz Festival in Chautagua, NY.
