The Faculty Brass Quintet welcomes four new members this year! Trumpets include new Assistant Professor of Trumpet, Dr. Raquel Rodriquez, and NKU’s Director of Bands, Dr. Brant Karrick. Karen Schneider joins the quintet and the NKU faculty as the new Instructor of Horn, and Tim Olt, Tuba, joins the quintet as he begins his second year as Instructor of Tuba. Longtime quintet and music faculty member David Dunevant continues on Trombone. |

The NKU Vocal Jazz Ensembles returns to The Blue Wisp for an evening of vocal jazz. This year we have two ensembles and outstanding singers. Assisted by Donald Steins, director of one of the groups, at the keyboard, Aaron Jacobs on bass and Mike Meloy on drums. This will be an exciting evening featuring a mix of vocal jazz ensemble and solo vocal jazz treats. |

NKU Bands present “Pioneers” Dr. Brant Karrick, conductor Thursday, December 10, 8:00 pm Greaves Concert Hall $5 general admission / $3 students w/ID
The NKU Bands return to the stage to perform works by some of music history’s true pioneers. The program will include Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor, Husa's Music for Prague, Festive Overture by Shostakovich and Vanity Fair by Percy Fletcher. The evening's performance will also include the world premiere of Pioneer, by NKU student Travis Richards. There will also be a special solo performance by an NKU faculty member. |

‘Tis the season and the choirs at NKU move their annual celebration to Mt. Washington Presbyterian again to take advantage of a wonderful pipe organ and great acoustical space. The choir will perform a variety of traditional carols and provide opportunities for the audience to sing some seasonal favorites.
