- In addition, NKU is just 7 miles from the Cincinnati Symphony and Pops Orchestras, Cincinnati Opera, Cincinnati May Festival Chorus, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, a half-dozen professional theaters staging national touring and local shows and dozens of live music venues showcasing some of the best jazz, blues, rock, classical, operatic and Broadway musicians in the USA.

- NKU students have a variety of choices for ensemble experiences in many music genres: ensembles at NKU include Symphonic Winds, Concert Band, Norse Pep Band, Jazz Ensemble, Vocal Jazz ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra, Northern Chorale, Chamber Choir, Opera Workshop, Brass Choir, R&B Combo, several Jazz combos, Steel Band and Percussion Ensemble.
- Participation in multiple ensembles is encouraged for majors and non-majors.

- NKU Ensembles tour both nationally and internationally.
- In fall of 2008, NKU Chamber Choir performed in Korea.
- In spring of 2008, NKU Symphonic Winds performed in Atlanta.

- Greaves Concert Hall is one of the finest performance spaces in the region. With 635 seats, and two nine-foot grand pianos, we are able to bring high profile performing groups to campus.
